******PLEASE NOTE REVISED TIMES DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER******* Wayne Morris, age 74, of Pleasant View died Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock pm Tuesday, January, 26th, 2016 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. John Richardson and Randy Hester officiating. Entombment will follow in Mallory’s cemetery mausoleum with Jerry Carney, Don Balthrop, Chase Buff, Ricky Knox, Marty Carney, Michael Bejma, Brad Blocker, and Hunter Bailey serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 1:00-9:00PM and again on Tuesday from 10AM till the hour of service at the funeral home. Mr. Morris was born April 23, 1941 in Cheatham County to the late Turner & Pearl Morris. He was a lifelong tobacco and cattle farmer and a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church. He was the owner of Farmers Tobacco Warehouse in Springfield for 25 years, served as a Cheatham County Commissioner for 20 years, served on the Robertson/Cheatham Co-Op Board for 14 years; and served on the Cheatham County Soil Conservation Board for 6 years. In addition to his parents, his is preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Bejma and Mildred Wilson; brothers, Elmo, G.B., Ray, and W.T. Morris. He is survived by his wife, Katrina Morris; daughters, Tamera (Micheal) Pace of Ashland City, Mary Anne Watts of Pleasant View, Leah Powell of Springfield, Candace Powell of Springfield; sisters, Anne Snelling of Texas, Betty Scruggs of Ashland City; grandchildren, Callie (Hunter) Bailey, Chase Buff, Parker Buff, Madison Pace, Caroline Watts; and great-grandchildren, Levi & Sara Bailey. The family wishes to extend a very special “thank you” to Dr. David Heusinkveld and staff.
