Ray Allen

Marion “Ray” Allen, Sr., age 83, of Pleasant View, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at The Waters of Cheatham. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 oclock pm, Friday, December 1st, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Joshua Garza, and Max Vick officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham with Dan Reigle, Steven Reigle, Joshua Garza, Danny Holder, Doug Miller, Max Vick, and Lee Hunter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Lee, Butch Stokes, George Ferguson, Harry Anderson, Grant Gibbs, Donnie E. Jones, Joe Bedner and the members of Local UAW 737. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 30th, from 4:00-8:00PM and again on Friday beginning at 10:00AM until the hour of service. Mr. Allen was born January 18, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Braxton and Clara Inglis Allen. He was a retired inspector with Ford Nashville Glass Plant. He also served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War; and was a member of the Ashland City Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ray Allen, Jr.; and brother, Gene Allen. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Allen; daughters, Tina (Dan) Reigle of Ashland City, and Connie Lynn Allen of Goodlettsville; brother, George Braxton (Louise) Allen, Sr. of Spring City, TN; grandchildren, Steven (Brittnye) Reigle, Stacy Reigle, and Joshua Richard (Amanda) Garza; great-grandchildren, Austin Steven Reigle, Blakely Grace Reigle, Gabriel Dean Garza, (and two on the way).
