Austin Pendleton

Leonard Austin Pendleton, age 76, of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Frank Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jeff Doss, Doug Webb, Marcus Hart, Tyler Hart, Billy Jackson and Chris Drake serving as pallbearers and American General as Honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday from 12 Noon until the hour of service at 2pm. Mr. Pendleton was born May 30, 1940 in Robertson County to the late Otis and Roxie Bell Morris Pendleton. He worked as an insurance agent for American General Interstate Life. In addition to his parents Mr. Pendleton is preceded in death by his wifes, Gayle Pendleton and Carol Marcum Pendleton; his brothers, William Thomas Pendleton, Roy James Pendleton and Anthony Ray Pendleton and sister, Mary Faye Pendleton. He is survived by his sons, Tony (Debbie) Pendleton of Cedar Hill and Timmy (Amy) Pendleton of Murfreesboro; step-son, Thad Marcum of Nashville; step-daughters, Lisa (Dave) Jones of Nashville, Jennie (Phillip) Roach of Pleasant View and Stacy (Chris) Drake of Springfield; brothers, Donald, Ralph, George and Lonnie Pendleton of Springfield; sister, Belvy Peercy of Springfield; special friend, Jeff Doss; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NorthCrest Hospice and can be sent c/o Austin and Bell Funeral Home. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
