Sandra Kay Poteet, age 68 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Residence at Alive Hospice. A memorial service will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 27th. Burial of her ashes will follow in EverRest of Cheatham. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM. Ms. Poteet was born on July 25, 1952 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Thomas Monroe and Alice Marie Nichols Smith. She was a retired cabinet maker for Kabinart Corporation. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Hardin; and 6 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Kenneth) Heggie, and Cathy Hodge; a brother, Tommy (Lorraine) Smith; a sister, Carol (Andrew) Hodge; grandchildren, Justin Lynch, Brittany Hughes, and Joseph Hughes, II; and great-grandchildren, Leon Lynch, and Aubrie Smith.
