Sergeant Major (Ret.) Ronnie “Butch” Allen Chamberlain, age 67, of Clarksville, TN, died Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 at Christian Care Center of Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 oclock am, Saturday, April 11th in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View with Wade Drake, Jeff Drake, Nat Drake, Jerry Drake, Terry Nicholson, Brandon Upchurch, and James Upchurch serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 10th, from 4-7:00PM. Mr. Chamberlain was born September 25, 1947 in Nashville, TN to the late Claude “Junior” and Viola Drake Chamberlain. He was a retired Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps having served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and a tour of duty in Desert Storm, the 1991 Gulf War. He was decorated with numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons, including The Legion of Merit, The Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 star, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and many others. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Claudia Chamberlain; brother, Randy Chamberlain of Pleasant View; uncle, Billy (Joyce) Drake of Pleasant View; cousins, Wade (Tish) Drake, Jeff Drake, Jerry Drake, all of Pleasant View; and daughter-by-love, Melinda (Terry) Nicholson and their children, Crystal, Brandon, James, Lisa, and Sammie, all of Pleasant View.
