Phonnie "Mackie" Leach, Jr.

June 9, 1954 - March 3, 2022

Phonnie Malcolm “Mackie” Leach, Jr., age 67, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 10am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Tyler Estep and Brother Thomas Weakley officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Todd Pendleton, Jake McCroy, Craig Elam, Mason Zeck, Walter Reynolds, Mark Hargett and Roy Wiley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mitchell Nance and Chad Williams. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 4-8pm and again on Monday from 9am until the hour of service at 10am. Mr. Leach was born June 9, 1954 in Springfield to the late Mr. Phonnie Malcolm Leach, Sr. and Mrs. Doris Stuard Leach of Springfield. He was the owner/operator of Custom Heating & Cooling and was a member of Red River Baptist Church. Mr. Leach loved his family first and foremost, and he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening and canning. In addition to his father Mr. Leach is preceded in death by his sister, Rayma Williams. In addition to his mother Mr. Leach is survived by his children, Jada (Robert) Zeck, Mac (Melanie) Leach, Leann (Todd) Pendleton, and Shelley (Craig) Elam; grandchildren, Meghan (Malcom) Meadows, Morghan (Dakota) Rawls, Mason Zeck, Carly Leach, Carter Leach, Mattie Jo Pendleton, Jackson Pendleton and Jake McCroy; two great-granddaughters on the way; nephew, Chad (Jennifer) Williams; and great-nephews, John Williams and Luke Williams. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Red River Baptist Church. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
