Patricia Binkley

November 6, 1940 - December 31, 2021

Patricia Jean Binkley, age 81, of Springfield, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022; first, at the Springfield First Baptist Church from 12-2pm and then, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield from 3-5pm. Your story of how you knew Mrs. Binkley are welcomed and encouraged. Mrs. Binkley was born November 6, 1940 in Wisner, NE to the late Leonard August and Bernadine Meyer Strong. After graduating high school, she graduated from Wayne State College in Nebraska, went to Bellmont, and got her Master’s Degree at Peabody. She was a school teacher for the Robertson County School System for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Binkley was a member of the Springfield First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir, and volunteered for everything. She even starred in the movie “Flowers for Fannie”, playing the lead role of Fannie Fairchild to rave reviews. She was great fun, always the life of the party. Known as "Pop" to her grandchildren, she loved her family and friends, and was always ready to have a good time with them. In addition to her parents Mrs. Binkley is preceded in death by her husband, George Philip Binkley. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Reyna Binkley; daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Stacy Harris; brother, Richard Strong; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Mike Fruehwald; and grandchildren, Kolby, Korey, Christopher, Madisyn, Shelby, Sam, Jessie and Robbie.
