James Myron Armstrong Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. James Myron "Jimmy" Armstrong age 62 of Springfield passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at TriStar Centennial. Jimmy was born on November 25, 1958 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to the late Myron T., Jr. and Avonda Sue Duff Armstrong. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and drove a truck for Hollingsworth Oil Company in Springfield. He served his country in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by brothers, Joe and William Armstrong. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Denise Qualls Armstrong of Springfield; daughters, Kimberly Denise (Clifton) Goodwin of Springfield, Kelli Brooke (Brandon) Douglas of Springfield; sister, Myra Newberry of Portland; grandchildren, Brooklyn Goodwin, Alexie Harris, Xander Harris, Dakota Douglas, Cameron Douglas, and Preston Douglas; nieces and nephews, Christopher Newberry, Stephanie Lane, Meranda Lambert, and Nicholas Newberry. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 2:00pm at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield on Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00pm and again on Monday from 12:00pm until the hour of service at 2:00pm. Christopher Newberry, Jeremy Baldwin, DeWayne Ralph, Brandon Douglas, Clifton Goodwin, Joey Dorris will serve as pallbearers. Frankie Pulley has been named as honorary pallbearer. Donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund. All donations may be sent care of the funeral home. We will be observing all COVID restrictions including Social Distancing and Masks.
