Victor Graham Pope

Age 71 of Springfield went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 11, 2020 at his home. He was born October 21, 1948 in Nashville, TN to George Bryant & Mary Katherine Bomar Pope. He worked as an owner/operator in the trucking industry and considered himself to be "trucker tough". Mr. Pope proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and passed away as a result of his exposure to Agent Orange. His passion was the Lord and his family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving as an usher. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Bryant "G.B." Pope, Jr.; sister, Brenda Bryant. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cheryl Pope, Springfield, TN; sons, Daniel Pope, Kevin (Petra) Henderson and Joseph (Sandra) Henderson, all of Springfield, TN and Trey (Whitney) Cook, Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Tabitha (Phil) Edge, Newnan, GA and Serene (Jimi) Hendrix, Springfield, TN; sister, Miriam K. (Barry) Hall, Franklin, KY, Gale Pope Cowan; 6 grandchildren, Dylan Hendrix, Jacob (Haley) Cook, Micah Hendrix, Chelsey (Leo) Heimer, Jordan Hendrix and Caleb Edge; 1 great-granddaughter, Stella Grae Cook. Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:30PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier, TN with Bro. Donnie Bryant officiating. A Private Family Interment will follow the service at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Mike Biederman, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Taylor, Matthew Bryant, Philip Edge and Tyler Gammon serving as pallbearers and with military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Pope, J.T. Taylor, Charlie Dickens, Steve Dickens and Barry Hall. Visitation is planned for Sunday, September 13, 2020 3-5PM and Monday, September 14, 2020 11AM-1:30PM at the church.
