Richard A. Anderson

Richard A. Anderson, age 85, of Nashville, TN, passed away surrounded by his loving family at St. Thomas Mid-Town on Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born October 10, 1932, the son of the late Albert D. Anderson and Lorene Greenwell Anderson. He earned his B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University and his Masters in Education from East Tennessee State University. He was a retired high school teacher and coach of 39 years while residing in East Tennessee and Washington County. He was a man of tremendous faith, love of God and family, who was a true prayer warrior. He loved taking pictures and photos of his family which always ended up in a family photo album that he prized very much. A Celebration of his life will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel on Monday, December 18, 2017, 11 AM with Pastor Richard Gaia officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the funeral home. Following the service on Monday, family and friends will gather at 1 PM for the interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Steven Davidson, Larry Parker, Gary Parker, Kevin Parker, Mike Brown, Tim Brown, Joe Warren & Paul McCoy will serve as pallbearers. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Peggy Anderson; daughters, Joni Cox and Ginger (Mike) Steadman; sister, Betty Parker, 3 loving grandchildren; Tabitha (Steven) Davidson, Kristen Cox, & Hunter (Allison) Steadman; 3 loving nephews, Larry Parker, Gary (Jean) Parker, & Kevin (Dale) Parker & many loving great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
