Lois Ann Miles

Lois Ann Miles "Granny", age 74, of Springfield, TN, passed away after an extended illness at her residence. She was born August 30, 1939 in Davidson County, TN the daughter of Melvin Binkley and Mary Elizabeth Napier Binkley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ruth Turner, Daisy Worrell & Louise Worrell; brothers, Bill & Al Binkley; son-in-law, Clay Allen. A Celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 6:30PM at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel with Bro. Clayton Allen officiating.She was a certified carpenter who worked and retired as a foreman for TVA. She loved to cook and loved getting together and celebrating any holiday. She collected ceramic cats, enjoyed playing bingo, watched NASCAR cheering on her favorites, Dale, Sr. and Dale, Jr., and never missed watching a Lady Vols or Titans game. Many have said she ‘enjoyed life to its’ fullest’ and invested much of her time into loving her family and ‘raising’ all the young people who passed through the doors of her home. She was known and loved as ‘Granny’ by all of them. She made her profession of Faith last year. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Allen, Springfield, TN; brothers, Ed (Glenda) Binkley, Mt. Juliet, TN; sisters, Bessie (Charlie) Holton, Hermitage, TN & Dixie (Ralph) Zerbe, Madison, TN; grandchildren, Clayton (Gina) Allen, Randall Roop (Stevyn Gilmore), Lizzie Allen (Darren Phillips) & Jackie Allen; great grandchildren, Jackay, Ashley, Jayme, Kendall, Kimberly, Lydia, & Nathaniel; great great grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden & Alisha. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 17, 2014 from 3:30 to 6:30PM prior to the Celebration of her life at 6:30PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00AM at Mt. Sharon Church Cemetery.
