Betty “Jean” Taylor, age 88, of Pleasant View, died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Vantage Pointe Village at Ashland City. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 oclock am, Thursday, December 14th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Ronnie Anderson officiating. Private family burial will be in Rock Church Cemetery in Charlotte, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13th, from 3:00-7:00PM and again on Thursday beginning at 9:00AM until the hour of service at 10:00AM. Mrs. Taylor was born May 31, 1929 in Portland, Tennessee to the late Willie O. and Allene Carter Freeman. She was retired from the Metro Nashville Water Department and was a member of Pleasant View First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Claude R. Taylor; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by sons, Randy (Merita) Taylor, Kerry Taylor, both of Old Hickory, TN, and Claude (Mellanie) Taylor of Pleasant View; daughters, Debbie (Paul) Nicholson of Pleasant View and Judy (Steve) Wilson of Nashville; brothers, Joe (Joan) Freeman of Portland, TN and Jackie (Judy) Freeman of Franklin, KY; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View First Baptist Church and may be sent in care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View.
