Donald Julian Crawford age 84 of Springfield, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2016 at Golden Living Nursing and Rehab in Springfield, TN. Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier. The funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday August 7, 2016 at the funeral home.. The burial will follow at 11:00 am on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Crawford was born on May 28, 1932 in Danville, IN to the late William and Gladys Russell Crawford. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean; sister, Kay Sunman; brother, Russell Crawford and great-grandchild, Jake Hannah. He was veteran of the US Navy, was past State Commander of VFW in Indiana, life member of VFW & American Legion, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and attended Ridgetop 1st Baptist Church. He loved his garden and raising cows and goats. He is survived by children, Tony (Jackie) Crawford of Greenbrier, Donna (Kenny) Schooley of Yellville, AR, Don (Kim) Crawford of Advance, IN, Tammy McAdams of Sarasota, FL, Gary (Cherril) Crawford of Clayton, IN, John (Maryann) Crawford of Sarasota, FL, Morris (Julia) King of Lafayette, TN; brother, Gene Crawford of Connersville, IN; sister, Shirley Grounds of Clayton, IN; mother of his children, Carolyn Carter; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Brown, Toni (Chet) Morgan, Eric (Stephanie)Crawford, Bradley Crawford, Brittany (Chris) Schneider, Aaron (Elee) Crawford, Holly (Billy) Knieriem, Ronnie Graves, Christina (Robbie) Hannah, Amber (Scott) Dorsey, Deirdre (Jason) Hall, Alex Stephens, Rhonda Kelly and 20 great-grandchildren. Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local American Legion or VFW.
