Betty Lou Meador Moore

Betty Lou Meador Moore, age 80 years, of Ridgetop, TN passed away suddenly at Skyline Medical Center on Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was born on February 8, 1933 in Macon County, TN to Elmer Roy Meador and Maymie Lee Sadler Meador. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Peggy Sue Garrison. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013, 7PM at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Goodletteville, TN with Bro. Tim Stutler officiating. Betty played basketball at Dupont High School where she was All-city in 1951. She played Women’s Independent Basketball and also played in the Church Women’s Basketball League. Betty loved her family, her church and her Lord. Each one of her family and friends were very important to her and she always loved them, supported them in everything they did and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed working in her church, Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she attended almost 62 years. She sang in the choir for over 50 years and was an active member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry. She was an avid amateur photographer and also loved riding horses and trail rides! She is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years, Jimmy Moore, Ridgetop, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Kathy Moore, Manchester, TN; daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Bob McLaurine, Goodlettsville, TN; sisters, Deanna (Thurman) Harris, Ridgetop, TN & Patricia Jackson, Foley, AL; grandchildren, Pam (Richard) Gipson, Chris Moore, Mandy Alford, Austin McLaurine & Drew McLaurine; 2 great grandchildren, Keyleigh & Ryder Alford. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, April 7, 2013, 3-7PM the hour of the service at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Interment will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 1PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
