Sue Krisle Cook

Sue Krisle Cook, age 73, went to be with her loving Savior, whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life on Monday morning, February 25, 2013, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a life-long resident of Greenbrier, Tennessee. She was born on August 10, 1939 to the late Ewing and Beatrice Osborne Krisle, in Springfield, Tennessee. Sue was the beloved wife of Mack D. Cook, whom she married on May 3, 1957 in Greenbrier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her sister, Marilyn Krisle Bagwell. Sue leaves behind her husband; her children, Renee Cook Manuel (Al Manuel) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Rhonda Cook Gregory, (Michael Gregory) of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Randy D. Cook, (Lisa Cook) of Florence, Alabama; her siblings, Frank E. Krisle, Sandra Krisle Reed, Sara Krisle Ray, Janice Krisle Miller, and David Krisle; five grandsons, Justin Gregory (Katherine Gregory), Caleb Gregory, Austin Manuel, Andrew Manuel, Campbell Cook, and seven granddaughters; Ashley Manuel Schot (Justin Schot), Bethany Gregory, Amy Manuel, Alysse Manuel, Jordan Cook, Katie Cook, Caroline Cook; and two great grandsons, Hudson Schot and Adrian Gregory; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was a member of the Greenbrier High School class of 1957 and worked for many years at Greenbrier Middle School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenbrier. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Sue’s legacy is a light that will continue to burn brightly in the hearts and memories of those who were blessed to call her mom and “Gran.” Her life-long spirit of compassion, generous and unconditional love (1 Cor 13:4-7, 1 John 3:16, Matt. 5:43-48), and her passionate commitment to prayer and God’s word in all seasons (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) have provided a profound source of inspiration and encouragement to her family. They rejoice in the knowledge that she now is in perfect peace, face to face with her Savior (1 Cor 13:12), the Lord Jesus Christ. Her life has been a beacon to them (Deut 6:1-9), pointing the way to the Lord, in whom they place their hope. (Ps. 130 and 131, Isa. 11:10, Matt. 12:21, Rom. 15:12, Heb. 11:1-2) Her services will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Greenbrier on Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Bob Cook and Brother Nathan Washburn officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. All donations may be sent in care of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home.
